Setting Up your Outlook Mail Signature Files

To set up a signature in Outlook, first select the “Options” line from the Tools menu.

Once the Options window is available to you, select the “Mail Format” tab and the “Signature Picker” control button.

add a new signature, click the “New” control button.

Type a meaningful name for this signature (you may soon have multiple signature for many purposes) and click “Next”

This opens the signature editor tool where you type in the new signature exactly as you want it to appear. In the event you want a formatted signature, with colored fonts, logo files and more, you need to select the “Advanced Edit” control. This will open MS Word, where you can create such a file.

Since this could trigger your mail to be in a format other than plain text, we will not cover that process here.

Type in your text signature and click the “Finish” control.

The newly created signature is now ready to use.

Click “OK” to return to the Signature Picker, where your new signature file is the new default.
